The Finger Lakes and Genesee River Valley regions of New York State boast many historically significant locations like Palmyra, birthplace of the Latter Day Saint movement; and Rochester, New York, whose famous residents have included George Eastman, Susan B. Anthony, and Frederick Douglass. The regions are also home to the Erie Canal as well as a number of agricultural sites, art museums, colleges and universities.

FLAG Heritage provides you with a digital glimpse of some of the rare cultural offerings from among the millions of images and documents preserved in the area's archives. Currently, the FLAG database includes almost 10,000 materials from our many participating local institutions.
